Changes in the offline payment process

We’re making some important security changes to the way we enable you or your customers to receive credit card details and process offline payments using Adobe Business Catalyst. 

These changes will be effective starting June 26 July 2nd and will further secure your day-to-day process of accessing customer credit card details from encrypted PDFs.

In order to continue accepting and processing offline payments, there are two items  that you must be aware of and action is required on your behalf.

  • A new, additional “Offline payment password” must be set, and updated every 90 days
  • Passphrases are now unique to each order. You can no longer use the one passphrase to access every secure PDF

We are making these changes to further protect the business owners from potential attacks by making the offline transactions more secure.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: at release, the "Forget Password" workflow for the "Offline Payment Password" will not work. Being a security concern that needs to comply to security standards, the regular workflow (via email) can't be applied. We will be updating this workflow soon. Make sure that you don't forget your "Offline Payment Password" until the next release.
